40 Days of My Body: Day 12, Celebrating YOU!

September 30, 2009

in 40 Days,Client Tell

I’m on a quest to spend 40 days working on my body. I am committed to exercising, keeping a food journal and being more aware of ways I use (and abuse) my body. We often worry about what we are not doing or what isn’t going well. I wonder: how do you celebrate what IS working?

Do you list your wins? Do regular gratitude lists? Have you ever thought to write down all of the compliments you get in one day (thanks to Samantha Bennett for this one)? I want to know–tell everyone in the comments below.

I am not alone in my quest. The roll call is growing! Here are the folks taking on challenges of their own, ranging from 21-40 days. Some are getting organized, others giving up fast food and some are simply breathing!
Tanya Geisler–40 days of hatha yoga
Petra Korn–on her body
Tia Reddy–yoga and exercise.
Alisa Bonsignore–working out and food conscious.
Suzie Powanda–no fast food or beverages.
Julie Rorrer–training for the Austin marathon in Spring.
xeo1314
Emma Alvarez Gibson–some bit of exercise, every day.

Anyone else ready to join in?

What are you doing for YOU today?

This video super dark (in exposure), but the goodness is there:).

    Hello Dyana,
Love following your process and progress! I am inspired, therefore, have decided to deal with my "sweet tooth". I am committing to following the Candida diet for 4 weeks ... I am dedicating this period of mindful eating to all who struggle with cravings for sweets.

WONDERFUL, Monica! (Sorry to shout, but this has me really excited.) That's fantastic. Please tell us more about the Candida diet--is that more than no processed sugars? Way to go and thank you so much for joining in.

    Hi,
here it is. Week 1 is pretty restrictive ... no fruit. Subsequent
weeks offer a bit more selection. If someone has Candida, it is best
to also take supplements for it. I am just following the diet.
I don't have anything set up ... blog etc. to follow my progress.
( Computer skills challenged!) I will check in with you weekly on
    yours if thats ok
    thank you for the support.

Oh-kay, that makes sense. If you have any links or Candida resources, feel free to post them up. YES, please do a check in, anytime, on my posts--that would be fantastic. I'm on your side Monica.
  • Dyana, Love what your doing and the great energy it is generating in others, including myself! I am especially taking to heart focusing on the positive. I would like to support those taking on the challenge by offering meditative massage at 25% off. Jeff

I am putting larger serving spoons in the vegetables and smaller ones in the starches. This works for me and coincides with my smaller plate.

Dear Aunt RT: this is awesome! What simple, practical ways to control portions. I hadn't thought of the smaller plate, but am going to try it today with lunch. Yahoo!

I am putting large serving spoons in the vegetable dish and smaller ones in the starch dishes. Just a little thing, but it works for me, along with my smaller sized plate.
  • I like to share all my wins with my boyfriend on a daily basis. Since I feel at my most comfortable with him, I can verbally revel in ALL my compliments and accomplishments without feeling silly at all.

Anyways, I figured out what 40-day challenge I could benefit the most from--I'm dedicating myself to figuring out and following through with a productivity system that will give me less stress and more time. I'll be posting it on my tumblr, pfenixremix.tumblr.com =) Thanks for the uber-great inspiration to hold myself accountable!

Perfection, Carabunga: it's really inspiring that you have such an open, sweet connection with your man. Keep the love rolling! Thanks for getting groovy with your productivity project. Keep us updated!
  • Oh yeah, writing things down is a HUGE motivator. No, it didn't stop me from having that gorgonzola steak and froufroutini, but it has made me find time to exercise even when I would have sworn that I didn't have 15 free minutes all day. It's really made me more aware of what I'm doing for myself.

Congratulations on the belt! Seeing progress is an awesome motivator.

you got it right, Alisa: documentation and noting wins are KEY. It's also a deep source of motivation to know that there are other folks--not just anonymous people in the world, but directly connected to us who are taking action and keeping commitments to themselves. Thank you so much for being here.
