in Passion

I’m in Denver (gorgeous, friendly), about to rock my first day of 4 days speaking (of of my top 3 favorite things to do on the planet) at the Creative Freelancer Conference and inHOWse Conference and HOW. Check out my flickr set to get a visual on what’s what.

What are you up to in the world?

Where do you gather with like minded folks, share ideas, push your boundaries?

Please speak up in the comments. Thanks.

  • What am I up to? I'm trying to build and launch a weaving business in Cambodia. I'm linking Cambodian weavers with Western tastes. I'm teaching business, organization and planning. I'm designing patterns and a range of products. I'm learning every day. I'm listening deeply. I'm being challenged + stretched beyond my wildest dreams.

Where do I gather? One-on-one conversations with my mentor. Reading blogs: Danielle LaPorte + Kelly Diels and diving into the comments. More recently, I'm looking to start/join/foster an online community. I'm digging into the Fire Starter Sessions and desperate to jam with like-minded folks.
  • Ohh, I love the "I'm good at" name tags. Those are clever!

In the world, I'm working with the dying (hospice) and their caregivers. I don't get paid (in fact, because it's my internship for my degree, I technically am paying for this amazing experience--worth it).

Even though I'm an undergrad, I got an override into a graduate level course on adulthood and aging. . . (my degree is human aging) and it's seriously affected my life in an amazing way. I am surrounded by women who are finishing their Masters and PhDs, in communicative services and marriage therapy. I'm the youngest by at least 5 years and the average age is 35--but it ROCKS, they have amazing insight and wisdom. It's like looking in a mirror, into the future. I'd like to do what these women do. Have families & partners, have a career serving a community, never stop learning. Just yesterday I met a professor who is going to consider nominating me to a professional society's board on gerontology!

Outside of my growing in interest in aging, I currently picked up the 21.5.800 challenge from Bindu Wiles. A 21-Day challenge. . . it definitely reminded me of the 40 Day Challenge! Hopefully this one will be equally eye-opening. :)

    Have fun in Denver!
  • I'm up to making magic- absorbing @DanielleLaporte White Hot Truth e-book, jamming with the divine Dyana and re-envisioning my future after a gobsmacking time at Crave with @MelodyBiringer.

I gather with my goddesses - 4 like minded women yet diverse in lifestyle, interests etc. We meet every month, have done for the past 3 years. It's been a lifesaver. We gather whether we're ecstatic, pissed off, exhausted, over the moon, whatever, we gather.

About to gather with the folks at the World Changing Writing Workshop- wahoo! Bring it on!

Nice!! I really enjoy reading about you creating YOUR community and diving in to projects big, small and all deep. Your blog is truly inspiring me to be in the moment and p.l.a.y. Thank you!

Love the photos! Denver is very cool.

I'm painting painting painting. These days most of my gathering happens on the phone!

yahoooo, Cindy! Your show is going to be a smash hit. Keep rocking the drip and pulling down Ent power, as needed. Watching you from the edge of my seat.

NICE, Andrea! I'm really interested to see what you learned and what you shared. If you post your preso or parts online--link it up here so we can all get our creativity ON.
  • Oh how I wish I was in Denver! That conference sounds like something I'd enjoy AND I'd get to see you! If you're ever in Toronto (or nearby), let me know.

So what am I up to?
    - Remember how you gave me that idea on being a video coach? This past week, I've been working on overdrive transition from my original business idea to that! Thanks so much for that idea, Dyana! I can't believe it took me a while to get to it. I guess I just needed a few more people to give me a bit of re-assurance and positive feedback to get me going? I'm hoping to further define the structure of my video coaching biz in the next week or two and start working with some awesome people!
    - I'm also creating a web series with 3 other lady geniuses (writing, acting, producing). It's a comedy and most of the characters will be women, which is great because I feel that women are underrepresented in comedy (and in film & television in general)

    Where do I gather?
    - I'm really starting to love Twitter and online forums. I've met some truly wonder people so far. I love the community aspect of it: the exchange of ideas, people offering to help you out, finding people to collaborate with (really loving this one!), and new discoveries
    - Offline, I've met some people in my scene-study class who I'm really blessed to have bumped into. We talk about what projects we should come up with and we help each other push our own boundaries we've put upon ourselves. The creative artists' community truly is something. (And by art, I don't mean those who just paint or draw. Anyone who wants to create something is an artist)

Bianca! Yahoo! Hey, be nice to yourself--we get to the things that work for us right on time. I can't wait to see your vids. Please link it up here so others can share in your greatness, too. Ohhhh, web series!! Follow those passions like you mean it.
  • Have a wonderful time in Denver.

As you know, I'm building a new way of life. My first photo in the press this week. I was utterly thrilled. A photo shoot tomorrow. And countless synchronicities along the way. People just popping up at the right moment. I'm building my networks. Some online, some offline. Offline, I have a great network of friends who share my spiritual and holistic views, and who are a constant source of strength.

yes, ma'am---I'm SO moved by your movement. I can't wait to hear how the park walks are going. Keep rocking on with your fabulous self--on and offline. Values values values! They are where the juice lives.
