I went to the beach and made a video. Which are noteworthy because: I live 11 blocks from the ocean and haven't been in months (okay many months) AND I love video but have been hiding out; These acts mean I'm listening to the Truth; and Because I know I'm better at everything on the days I see the ocean and on the days I choose to show up to my medium. What are you keeping from yourself that you know is a shoe in for better work/movement/knowing? Can't see this <2min video, watch it here. So, what are you committing to RIGHT NOW?
No, not forever, just right now. Tell me in the comments--I need to hear it because if WE are reaching for what's right/good/juicy, the world keeps getting better. Oh, and have you seen this yet?

    This morning, I am committing to creating 3 new designs for my (currently-empty) Etsy greeting card shop. I have been putting it off far too long (fear, uncertainty, procrastination?) and decided NOW is the time. Taking small steps is better than taking none.

    Oh, and thanks to you, I am also committing to more trips to the beach in Chicago!

    Listening to music. I have houseful of CDs  (and cassettes) that renew, revive & release the joy in me. But I have been living in silence. Why? Choosing to stay surly. Not good. Time for some toooones ;)

    love it! I also live really close to the beach and have not been in a while either. I have had this same stuff on my mind. Thinking the other day why do we stop doing what feeds ups, what works for us? I am working on getting it into a post too, but not video (working on that brave part of myself!) 
    If I can do something creative even a tiny thing on a daily or almost daily basis it’s what helps keep me sane so working in my visual journal, writing or photography are my main ones.. Also love listening to music!

    Excellent!! Two weekends ago I agreed to go to my husband’s high school reunion, only because I knew it was being held at the beach. I was on the sand before the sun rose both mornings (and the only, ONLY reunion-goer to go to the beach at all) and spent some serious quality-time later on Saturday at a secluded beach, just me & my ocean. After spending the evening before with people whose conversations were either “what they did back when,” or “death, disability, discontent,” I committed myself to the dream I was given two years ago on another beach. To get myself to the beach I love, PERMANENTLY, ASAP! The best part of the thought process is the realization that though slow, I’ve been moving forward to not a dream, but the reality ever since it first hit me.
    Keep it up out there–you are wonderful you know!! And next time you hesitate taking those 11 teensy-tiny blocks, I want you to hear my voice–”This could be the very last thing you do in your life–JUST DO IT!!!!” x0

    Mmm, the beach. It’s really hard to have enormous problems at the beach because the ocean is so large and so eternal that all of your really enormous issues feel so inconsequential in comparison.

    This week — this whole month, really — is about closing out the old stuff and opening the doors to new ideas and opportunities.

    I’m finding my joy by saying no when I want to. By standing in my power. By giving Annabella (my 3 year old) extra hugs in the morning. By knowing that every moment is a teaching moment.

    Love the beach too and live close enough to go more often. (Get in that backseat you teen!) Ok, so what’s changed for me starting back on June 1st (coincidence?) is that I’ve been writing every day. Using the #trust30 prompt to get me thinking, but then going beyond that. Ya, the teen’s not happy about it, but whatev… :-) I’m committed to growing as a writer because writing gets me fueled up for everything else.  Thanks for sharing!

    Hey Dyana! It’s so interesting that you bring this up, because I’ve been thinking about this a lot. One of the things that strengthens my relationship with my husband and makes me feel amazing on the weekends are our morning walks. We talk about the past week, our ideas and dreams, and reconnect after working so hard. And, we haven’t been making them a priority for the past few months. There’s always an excuse–we need to clean the house, we need to sort and pay the bills, we need to go grocery shopping, I’m not feeling well. And, when we do make those walks a priority, it can completely change both of our moods for the entire day, so why wouldn’t we make it a must instead of a “if we can find time”? Anyways, I really related to your video and it helped me clarify this idea that I’ve been thinking about a lot.

    Wow, I’m so glad I finally got around to reading this post + watching your video.  
    I too CRAVE being near the ocean.  There’s something so relaxing and grounding about being near the water.  Reminds me that I need to make time to be outside, in the sun, with my feet on the ground (preferably in the sand) and near water.  It recharges me and invigorates me like nothing else.

    I am committing to allowing my personal creativity needs will become a priority, and that I will do the planning to make my lifelong passion be a reality. I used to live by the ocean, and abandoned it in pursuit of something I new was not my permanent path. I have allowed financial security needs to cloud my vision, and I really want to get back on track, even though I’ve wasted almost 30 years.
